The Jolla IMPACT BLa U13 team (BU14 for this upcoming season) won the Rady Children's Hospital Charity Cup Tournament over Father's Day on June 19th and 20th. Playing in its first tournament under coach Tsaki Dermirdjian, the team lost its first game and then rebounded to win all the rest. The team advanced through the semi-finals in a penalty shootout against Scripps United Red, thereby earning a re-match in the finals against the La Costa Matrix team that had beaten them in the first game. Impact emerged the champions after yet another penalty shootout, wrapping up a very exciting and rewarding weekend.
